What's the process?
Financial Planning is a process to help you reach your goals.
It is not just about products or investments, nor is it only for people with lots of money to invest. ..
We will work with you to determine your values - what's really most important to you, and then work with you to meet your goals and dreams.
We go through the following process which ensures we are giving the most valuable and appropriate recommendations.
1. Initial Meeting
Our first meeting is a where we find out what is most important to you. What are your goals, dreams, values, priorities and aspirations in life? What concerns do you have? What are you hoping we can help you with?
At the completion of this meeting we will determine together if our relationship will be a good 'fit' and want to move onto the next steps in the process.
2. Further discovery about you
This is where we get further clarification about where are you now. This allows us to provide the most appropriate advice going forward.
3. Research and strategy planning
Now we know where you are now, and where you want to get to, we take some time to look at all the options that can be considered to help you get there.
We will stay in touch with you during this period if required to make sure we are on the right track.
4. Presentation of your road map
This meeting we will present our strategy to you and explain in detail the recommendations we have made to meet your stated goals. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions, and we can adjust any recommendations if necessary.
5. We assist you to implement any recommendations we have made.
Once you are happy to proceed, we will then implement any recommendations made, including assisting with any application forms and coordinating with any third parties that may be required (ie. Solicitors or Accountant).
You are now a part of the TNS Family. Congratulations, you have made the first step towards achieving the life you dream of.
6. Check-up and ongoing review to ensure everything is going to plan
As awesome as our initial recommendations are, things are constantly changing and your situation will need to be regularly reviewed.
We stay in touch with you to make sure you are still on track to achieving your goals.
The frequency of the reviews will be determined by your individual situation.
Things we can help with
Once we have determined what is most important to you, and what your goals are, some of the most common things we can help with are:
Analysing your superannuation fund(s) and ensuring that it is the best option for your current situation and retirement goals.
This includes looking at the overall structure, associated fees, investment options and any associated insurance options.
We look at strategy options to increase your benefits for retirement and reducing tax where possible.
Personal insurances cover you and your family financially if you are unable to work due to injury, illness or death. If you have debt, financial dependants or earn an income, looking into options for personal insurance is a MUST.
We will help you take control of your income, change your mindset around money and work with you to achieve your goals.
Debt is such a common feature in our lives these days, and we can help you get the most from your current situation, and structure any debt in a way that is most beneficial for you. We look at good and bad debt, home loans, borrowing to invest and ways you can reduce your overall debt.
Once we know what your retirement goals are, we put together strategy recommendations to utilise and superannuation and other assets to get the most from your retirement. We will consider any potential Centrelink benefits and ensure you can live comfortably in retirement not worrying about money.
There are so many investment options, it can be extremely daunting to navigate on your own. Again, what suits one person, does not necessarily suit the next, so it is imperative that any recommendations are designed specifically for you and your goals. Whether your goals are short or long term, or whether you have a lot of money to invest or not much at all, there are investment options for everyone.
What are the fees?
We are a fee for service advice firm, meaning we receive no commissions from investments or superannuation.
This ensures the advice provided is suited to YOU and not based on any specific benefits we may get from providers.
We do have an option to receive commission from insurance providers based on the cover recommended. We sometimes do this as it can cover the implementation fees associated with the insurance recommendations. We will determine the most appropriate option for you.
The advice fee covers the initial process, including the following: meetings, collating information, researching and determining most appropriate recommendations and presenting these recommendations to you.
This fee is payable regardless of whether you want to implement all, some, or none of our recommendations.
The implementation fee covers implementing each of our recommendations made. We will then follow up during the process to ensure everything is implemented as per our expectations.
