The Financial Planning Journey

With so much uncertainty happening at the moment, we thought it was a great time to remind you of the financial planning journey and how it benefits you. You may also want to share this with someone who you think may benefit from it.

Essentially it is imperative that you get as much as possible out of your financial planning experience. This is why we follow a five-step process to understand your needs, set your goals and keep your financial plan on track over the long term.

We’ll be here to guide you at every stage of the journey to support you through every important decision, so you can enjoy total peace of mind about your finances. Here’s how it works.

Step 1: Getting to know you– Our initial consultation with you will be a fact-finding exercise. As well as discussing your personal circumstances and life goals, We’ll ask you about your current financial situation, including your savings, investments, super and debts. You can then decide if you want to move on to the next stage of the process.

Step 2: Explore your options– Once we have a good understanding of your finances, we’ll put together create a long-term strategy to help you get to where you want to be, based on your unique needs and goals. We’ll also work closely with our team of investment specialists to choose a range of appropriate financial opportunities for you to explore.

Step 3: Recommending a strategy– We’ll present a Statement of Advice to you that clearly explains each of our recommendations, as well as the risks, consequences and costs involved. If you have any concerns or would like any changes, we’ll adjust your plan accordingly.

Step 4: Putting your plan into action– When you’ve considered the options and given the green light, we’ll proceed to the next stage. This will involve you signing the Statement of Advice, which authorises us to go ahead and start implementing your financial plan. You now have a plan for the best, with clearly defined steps for you to follow.

Step 5: Monitoring your plan– We then do regular reviews of your plan, where we check in with you at least once a year, updating your plan as needed to keep you on track towards reaching your goals. This will include adjusting your plan as your financial situation and life goals evolve, or if there are any changes to financial products or investment markets that could affect you.

We are aware that the financial planning process can be very daunting, whether you are new to it or not, so we would love the opportunity to be able to explain this process to you further and answer questions you may have.
